Welcome to another show and lots of great stuff tonight including new mixes for songs from THE SATURDAYS, ZOE BADWI, JLS . Plus we'll be highlighting half a dozen ALMIGHTY cover songs , and saying goodbye to GIRLS CANrsquo;T CATCH ; they have disbanded after only 2 singles !!!

Welcome to another show and lots of new stuff tonight including the newies for THE SATURDAYS  (the band you have when you’re not having GIRLS ALOUD) , JLS (the theme from THE SOUND OF MUSIC … not really, but they have pinched a few of the words) and it is actually pretty darn good , INNA (the HOT girl … even if it has taken a year to release) , plus new mixes for Diana Vickers, Daruso and Kelly Rowland.

OUT AND ABOUT : WHAT WE’VE SEEN … 

SHOW : THE KING & I : What a great production to start their new season of pared back musical !!! This was a very good production from the clever use of scenery, great singing and dancing, and a couple of lovely duets from Adrian Li Donni (the guy who sang on the Pride March Theme. 5 kisses in the shadows out of 5

Now i’m really looking forward to next month’s production of THE BOY FROM OZ with Todd McKenney and David Harris. BOOK NOW if you don’t already have tickets !!!

FILM : THE RUNAWAYS : This was an interesting biopic of the 70’s all-girl band fronted by Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. The first half showed how they got together, built up their fan base and toured Japan. The second half documented their decline as sex and drugs and rock and roll all got in the way … The first half built you up and the seconds half was a bit of a downer, but then that’s life sometimes, amd then ending was bittersweet … 3 bloodspots on the pavement out of 5

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue … well, not really blue, but we loved the musical joke on SPICKS & SPECKS last week, from the comedian/Hospital DJ who played a song for the guy who went into the Emergency Department with a Superhero doll inserted into his bottom … and the song he play was ( 2nd from the end, by Yvonne Lee) … LOL.

I’m also glad to have found a club mix of the TRUE BLOOD theme Bad Things. And I’m especially pleased to now have the two almighty miixes of  tracks from Katherine Jenkins latest album BELIEVE. Love a good operatic song with a dance remix.

I also really love the new Pipettes single Stop The Music, and their new album  Earth vs PIPETTES is sounding pretty good.

FILM : TOY STORY 3D : This movie really has everything … a moving story, cute characters that you really care about, cutting edge graphics and all in 3D !!! What more do you want ? 5 wet handkerchiefs out of 5 (from crying you filthy bitches !!!)

FILM : TWILIGHT 3 : ECLIPSE : Yes, as predicted the audience was full of girls and gay boys. Who else would want to see basically a love story between a sappy girl and a vampire, and scenes of college lads having shirtless gatherings on their front porches ? Oh, yes, there were a few fight scenes in their, but not enough appeal to those action movie buffs. Get the picture. If you’ve loved the previous two, you’ll love this, but I don’t think it’s gonna bring many new fans. 3 ½ pecs out of 5

SHOW : CALENDAR GIRLS : Yes, this is corny , but with a cast like that, and a heart at the bottom of it all, this is the perfect  WINTER comfort show. Take you’re Mum, she’ll love you for it …. Mine did !!! 3 senior citizen boobs out of 5

SHOW : SING ALONG A SOUND OF MUSIC : Another favourite show with my Mum. This was heaps of fun. You get to singalong with Maria and the Nuns, hiss at the Baroness, and boo at the Nazis. Plus you get 5 other props for key moments in the film.  We had a ball, but it helps if you are a least slightly familiar with the film. What is it you can’t face, Maria ???? 4 Trapp Family Singers out of 5
